Tony Blair on politics and “free bird instincts”

Tony Blair's memoir was published last week, and it apparently includes some comments on sexual acting out in the political world.  According to Politico,

At several junctures in the notably candid book, Blair muses about what drives powerful politicians to take the risks inherent with illicit sex.

“My theory is that it’s precisely because of the supreme self-control you have to exercise to be at the top,” he concludes. “And your free-bird instincts want to spring you from that prison of self-control. Then there is the moment of encounter, so exciting, so naughty, so lacking in self-control.”

Makes me wonder – who's going to write about how that "free bird instinct" works itself out for women at the top?
