Resources from the AIDS Conference

The International AIDS Conference, which ended Friday in Mexico City, always provides a massive amount of new knowledge to those who attend.  Even if you did not make it to Mexico, however, you can take advantage of the conference coverage at the Kaiser Family Foundation web page, which includes videos and transcripts of plenaries, interviews with officials, and daily reports describing new research.

For example, you can watch a video of the presentation by Justice Edwin Cameron of the South Africa Supreme Court of Appeal. Justice Cameron argued for decriminalization of consensual sexual activity as a necessary step in preventing HIV transmission. See the hoj previous post, with a link to the article making the case more fully, co-authored with Scott Burris (Temple Law) and South African human rights lawyer Michaela Clayton, available on SSRN. There is also NY Times coverage of the speech.
